Robert Grieves, Chairman

Founder, Chairman and CEO of Hamilton Advisors Limited, Robert Grieves has been a top-tier communications consultant since 1989, following a 12-year career in journalism for The Times (London) and The Economist (both in Beijing), and Time magazine and Forbes (both in New York).

As a communications specialist, Robert’s career has included seven years at the global public relations firm of Burson-Marsteller, five years as head of Marketing and Communications, Asia, for Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong, three years as head of Global Communications for The Bank of New York, and four years as head of global media relations and financial communications for the international insurance firm, ACE.  Prior to founding Hamilton Advisors, he served as President, Hong Kong for Edelman, a global public relations firm that has won numerous awards in the Asia-Pacific region.

Robert is a Member of the Board of Governors at the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong; a Member of the Professional Committee at The Foreign Correspondents’ Club; a Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Council of Public Relations Firms of Hong Kong; and a Member of the Organizing Committee of the Society for the Promotion for Hospice Care’s Hike for Hospice.

Robert graduated from Hamilton College magna cum laude with a B.A. in English Literature and East Asian History, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his M.S. in Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a concurrent certificate from Columbia’s East Asian Institute.
